COMPETITION

The rules of the competition for the best research paper presented by a young author during the 17th International Conference on Computer Methods in Mechanics CMM-2007.

  1. Any participant of the present Conference on Computer Methods in Mechanics who would like to take part in the competition must:
    • be born after the 1st January 1972
    • have an academic degree not higher than PhD
    • be an author or a co-author of a paper presented during the present conference
    • present his/her paper
  2. The criteria of choosing the best paper:
    • the basic criterion is the level of the paper, i.e. its originality and the advanced theoretical/numerical technique
    • the way of presentation: its level and the author's participation in discussion will be an important criterion
    • a supplementary criterion will be the author's share in the presented paper (is it author's own paper or what is his/her share in a team work?)
  3. Outstanding papers can be proposed by session chairmen or members of Conference Scientific Committee.
  4. The jury of the competition consists of Conference Scientific Committee. Decisions are made by a majority of votes. Voting on procedural matters is public and on the choice of the best paper is secret.
  5. The jury may award two papers equivalent prizes or not award any paper.
